It sounds as if you have a very nice system there.
IMO the speed box is a waste of money.
I suggest that you get a Musical Fidelity V-LPS phono preamp, which will be a far more noticeable upgrade in sound quality.
A cartridge upgrade to the Ortophon Blue would also be a very noticeable sonic upgrade, if you are still using the one that came with the turntable.
Great, thanks for the response. Looks like I may hold off any any major tweaks for now. Any other lower cost tweaks (such as a record clamp) that will help me maximize the sound quality?
I have the same turntable. I really like it a lot. I also have the Project Speedbox II. It does make switching beteween 33 and 45 as easy as a punch of a button but it also provides some stability in the motor. I noticed that I didn't hear as much noise after I added the Speedbox.One other upgrate to this turntable that I did and it was a real noticeable difference right away was add the Pro-Ject Acryl-It Platter. i'd start there. Good luck with it.
