I don't think you need any sort of electronic crossover for the subs you are talking about.

I suggest that you look at the manual for them and you will see that it is all built into the sub itself.

The Focus 160s are certainly excellent loudspeakers.

The f113 subs may be way more than you need unless you have a room that is the size of an auditorium...lol.

You might wat to look at the NHT B12D subwoofer, which is excellent and not quite as expensive.

The Focus 160s go down to around 50 Hz or so, and the subwoofer's own low-pass filter can be set for around 50 Hz. No need for any external crossover. Just make small adjustments in the sub's LPF untill you get the best blend between the main speakers and the subs.

I'm not sure, but somewhere I read that you needed an external crossover for 2 f113's, but now I can't find the place I read.  This is great news indeed!

My room is only 19x21, however I thought that having the two f113's would give the bass heavy electronic music a better edge, and plus the guy is letting 2 new ones go for $4500--not a bad deal.

That's going be a heckuva system.  Spend time setting up the subs.  The dealer and the manual should both be your friends on that.

btw - saying this with respect and brotherly love - get your butt the heck out of the "entry level" forum now!

You can get two NHT B12 D subwoofers for $1400, and I will guarantee that you will have all the bass you need in that size room.

NHT B12 D subwoofers out of the water. For around $1400 one might as well spring for a pair of Rythmik F12s.

For $5000 or so, they should do something, shouldn't they?

As for "blowing them out of the water", they certainly have a bit more more power.

I won't concede that the sound quality is as good.

My point was that he might actually get something excellent that meets his NEEDS for less money.

I guess you missed my point.

As evidenced in the last sentence of my previous post.
