thats a good question Kal. And that may be the problem, right?  If in FLAC Or WAV the Oppo should play them?

Otherwise, WAV and FLAC are supported.

How do I burn such?  Are there DVD-A "R" blank discs, or is it a matter of settings or getting software (Roxio?) that burns DVD-a's?  Thanks.

Burned FLAC & WAV files to DVD-R discs and it works!  Thanks! Didn't work (yet) w AIFF files
