I assume that you are burning these downloads to a CD because I do not see any inputs on the NAD c525bee.  Anyway, the NAD cannot play more than 16bits so you are getting nothing more and maybe less through the process.  The Oppo 103/105 has digital inputs which will accept 24/96 from your PC or from DVDs burned at 24/96.

Yes because CDs are limited to 16/44.1.  However, why waste time, space and plastic?  You can play these files direct from your computer or from a USB drive on the 103/105.

well i do like to have a hard copy of these concerts because of the very rare event of having my external hard drives malfunction on me. good to know about the USB drive on the oppo though. thanks kal and happy listening.

All computer users should have a robust backup strategy. Otherwise, you will need to burn to DVD-Audio and get a player that can play DVD-A.

I have my complete digital music library on three different, separately located HDD's, and I'm still nervous. You only need to be burned once.
