Decco 65 Review

This is a typically wonderful review BUT you don't ever specify whether the amp has the feature that distinguished the idecco: the iPod dock.  Should i assume that your silence means it is not there?

It's in there somewhere.

I can't say either way, but I thought that was addressed in the article. I'm just mixed up as to whether it does, or does, not have the dock still. The technical spec.s listed will definitely say so.

I have a friend interested in

I have a friend interested in getting the Decco 65 and was wondering if you had speaker recommendations for around the $700 price range. New and used considered, prefer bookshelf speakers and that they be a current model.  Obviously tastes in presentation are a big factor, but at this point, looking for recommendations in that price range that would technically work well with this integrated.

no dock

Sorry for getting to this so late. However, I thought Art Dudley made it clear that the decco65 does not include an iPod dock.  In the second paragraph of the review, he writes:

The iDecco, which sold for $999, is no longer in the company's lineup, and while Peachtree continues to put iPod docks in various of their amps and preamps, today they're betting on a simpler yet more highly evolved addition to their stable: the decco65 ($999), in which a 65Wpc amplifier and a hybrid tube/solid-state preamp share space with a 24-bit/192kHz D/A converter.

Peachtree's own speakers would be a safe bet and fit the price.
