better DAC. They both are obviously viable options.

Other possibility?

Emotiva USP-1, XPA-200 and XDA-2.

Went with the NAD, since my 705 served me well for many years. Tough decision. Have read many, many good things about the Emotiva, but good god that thing is ugly.

Now to think about upgrading the speakers....
