I guess some people just want to be different. I've always been lead to beleive you didn't move cables even a bit.

You said you heard an audible difference, you didn't say it was an improvement?

Professing to be open minded I'll give it a shake, this better not be a joke.

And I appreciate you having an open mind to this strange, odd anomaly.

Tim, I am constantly tightening down my speaker posts (hand-tight only), and I began to notice that everytime I accidently bumped into my speaker cables and had to line them back up evenly on top of the little Michael Green cable elevator they rest on, it seemed the Bass tightened up a bit. So, I started fiddling with my cables, even dis-connecting my digital cable and reconnecting it before a good long session. I know that's sounds as if I have began to veer off where the buses don't run, but I'm tellin ya there is an improved audible diiference, either that..or I am now entering in to the early stages of dementia. lol!

Thanks man,

Mark

I undo all the system connections about twice a year, and clean with DeoxIT Red followed by DeoxIT Gold. I should probably do it quarterly, or even more often, but ...you know. (sigh)

I have never heard it make a difference, with my wooden ears.

lol!  I hear ya,,,at 50 yrs old, my ears have been fried by Fire truck sirens for the past 21 years, been retired for 5 years now. Which, if you think about it, that could be why I may 'think" I hear a difference, or there could very well be some difference in sound. Who knows. Whatever it is..I'm diggin it! ;-)

I do exactly the same with my I/C's and speaker cables, only once a year though. I'm sold on DeoxIT, great stuff. I just wish I could get it somewhere else besides Radio Shack here where I live, too expensive.

Mark , I did try the jiggy thing last night, I listened very attentively but I honestly couldn't hear a difference, the wife and daughter were highly entertained by the procedure so it wasn't a total loss, they already think I'm on glue or something. The dog also had to check out and sniff every thing I did the jig with to make sure everything was as it should be, he seemed satisfied.

We clean all connections about once a year with Kontak cleaner, pipe cleaners and q-tips, there not usually to dirty. Anyone else notice that some brands of cables and cords collect grunge more than others, Vandenhul seems the worst.

lol! Thanks for trying it out Tim. Good question about the cable grunge build-up. Years ago, I used Monster Cable, the cheaper priced stuff with the clear jacket, and I did notice that the copper turned dark after about a year or so.

Hello Mark,

I have never tried such a thing. I did have an opportunity to demo some Mark Levinson gear - CD/SACD, Pre and Power amp w/ Verity speakers and Transparent cables/cords/power conditioners last week. Great experience! Now, I have to figure out how to pay for it all....

How is your system coming along?

How to pay for it?  lol!  I hear ya!  Of course, debt is the American way, take out a loan. I hated to do it but sometimes you have to bite the bullet if you come across a great synergy of gear.

I'm happy as a Lark with my current set-up. More POWER..solved my issues and of course wall, window, and ceiling treatments was a MUST. Never neglect the room acoustics is my new motto.
