The Music Hall USB-1 will be a disappointment, now and in the long haul. Better to get the MMF-2.2 and a Rek-O-Kut Professional Preamp MKII for $74 or a TC-760LC for $74.
Even a TCC TC-750 phono preamp for $44 would do until you could upgrade.
I'm realizing compromise and this hobby don't really go hand in hand, so I went for the mmf-2.2, in white, no less. Next up is a phono preamp, should the above suffice, or should I look into maybe a Music Fidelity V-LPS Mk II or music hall pa1.2?
compromise for an entry level system. Performs above its price point. The Music Hall PA1.2 is another competent entry level phono stage and is essentially a ProJect Phono Box from what I can tell.
Looks like I might shoot for the Music Fidelity then. Anywho, thanks for your advice.
Is there any miscellaneous info, tips, tricks, or even recommended accesories a vinyl newbie should know?
carbon fiber brush to keep your precious vinyl clean. Spin Clean them once when they are new and then use the carbon brush between playing and they won't require another Spin Clean for a while. Spin Clean all used records and then use the carbon brush between playing.
Just wanted to follow-up and say that I'm madly in love with my music hall mmf-2.2. Managed to get it set up and playing beautiful music without a hitch, and I look forward to maybe upgrading it in the near future. Also, record cleaning acessories are definitely next on my to buy list.
Regards.
