Tom, you are so right regarding the review of the BMC integrated amp.  Certainly not the first time a review made every best effort to avoid hilighting a products obvious deficiencies.  It certainly would be a breathe of fresh air to read an article or review in Stereophile that delivered a straight forward take on a product that was blatantly inferior.  Instead we get history lessons, social networking, personal anecdotes and misleading prose.  If a product sucks, just say so!   Of course that woud be exceptionally helpful and at the same time lower the ad revenue....and alot of people love a healthy dollip of bullshit with their audio literature, don't ya know:O)  I know I'm ranting here and being a bit harsh, but sometimes you need a Steroephile edition "Rosetta Stone" to get to the truth hidden "between the lines", which happens to be a most excellent Genesis composition....damn, now I'm doin it:O(

dlb:  sorry i didn't see your comment until just now, but didn't check becuase it is so quiet around here.  i am not quite as cynical as you about the ads to review theory.  however, in this month's (aug.) issue, mr. f calls it pretty straight in my opinion on the $9,000 h & s blue cartirdge.  you may not have you issue yet, but look for this.
