It depends a lot on what you have for a rack or cabinet, but in general I use nylon ty-wraps to tie them together in bundles and to tie them to the vertical pillars of the rack or cabinet. They come in black, white, and other colors. MCM Electronics has a good selection of sizes and colors; search their site for Hellermann Tylon and Panduit.

If the back of the rack is complately open, another thing you can do is take a piece of wood (or metal?) 4 inches to 6 inches wide and a couple of feet long and put it vertically behind the rack with one end on the floor and tie a bundle to the back side of it. You can also put some metal conduit clamps on the back of it (an inch or larger in diameter) and just feed the cables loosely through the clamps from top to bottom.

Hey guys, what do you do with your extra cable, from interconnects and whatnot?  All of mine just hang down behind my rack and and very visible.  I have them separated in to three catagories: power, which I run all together down a leg away from everything else, line level, which I have all grouped messily together (the biggest mess of them), and speaker level, which I run low down to the floor.  But it still looks sloppy.  Is there a more elegant solution for hiding/bundling/just making them look nice and neat?
