That speakers with 2 sets of binding posts connected with the bus bars will do exactly what I'm wanting to do. Reading thoroughly on the subject reveals that bi-amping is more beneficial than bi-wiring.
The Imagine Bs are not difficult to run and I can see no reason why you would entertain bi-wiring or bi-amping as options. Just buy a 4ohm-capable amp suitable for them. If you are using a multichannel AVR and you have amps to spare, it might be a fun experiment but what do you think you will be getting out of making it more complex?
