hey lespaulplayer (me too! check out the pic)
could you further explain the issues your having?
You can purchase a Zinio digital subscription here: http://www.zinio.com/browse/publications/index.jsp?prnt=cat1960026&productId=6537936&categoryId=cat1960108
by adding it to your cart. The Zinio version is readable either through your web browser or through the downloadable Zinio reader.
In addition, you can get pdfs of the March Issue for free (one-time only) from iTunes if you search for Stereophile in iTunes. Hope this helps.
Rock on!
Hey fellow Lester fan.
The problem is my wanting to read the mag offline on a 2nd computer that, for security reasons, won't be able to connect to the internet.
After talking with Zinio support, this is not possible to do since I have to download the mag files onto the 2nd computer in order to read it with their Zinio viewer. I can't simply transfer the files over and read them as is possible with say pdf files.
So, this new subscription is basically useless to me as the reason for my wanting them was to read them on my 2nd computer while out touring.
Worse, Stereophile is being complicated in issuing me a refund telling me I have to take it up with Zinio who are telling me that, because the subscription was done direct with Stereophile, they are the ones who need to issue the refund!
It's become a joke! I'm not impressed with either Stereophile or Zinio.
Anyhow, keep playing and enjoy that Lester sound.
hey lpplayer,
i'm investigating further, but unfortunately, I do not have a solution right now. I have forwarded this to our editors and IT team, and we will let you know if we can think of a solution.
Believing this was futile I have asked for a refund. But, I certainly would prefer to keep the subscription if I were able to actually view the material as desired.
Hopefully, a resolution is forthcoming.
Much appreciated.
How would the print edition not meet your needs of having a mobile version that can be viewed without internet access?
I travel extensively and so the logistics of mailing it to where I think I am going to be would be the issue.
Thanks again.
Thanks for the info.
I'm looking into your situation to see if there's anyway we can help.
If it is any consolation and you are in dire need for your Stereophile, I have seen it sold at Hudson News on occasion at different airports.
Ariel, if you are communicating with IT maybe you could suggest to them to make these files available as pdf's. If they were pdf's then all of my troubles would be gone and reading them would be so much simpler and less complicated.
I would love to see the digital version be in pdf version also. That way it could be stored in my Ipad ibooks library. I currently have 2 years worth of TAS and HiFi Plus. When I'm traveling it is very easy to read any issue. Unless I'm doing something wrong there is no way to archive past issues from my digital subscription...just the one that I read last.
this is currently available. just search Stereophile in the iTunes store.
hi lpplayer
i've sent you an email.
if you did not receive, i can resend as private message here.
thanks.
