China these days. So, if you are not philosophically or otherwise adverse to made in China it should get serious consideration.
The Dussun V8i is an impressive piece and the Jungson JA88D is available in Class A and Class AB versions. There are some Xindak pieces which get good buzz as well.
Also made in China but designed and distributed by a company in Franklin, TN is the Emotiva line. A pair of Emotiva XPA-1 power amplifers and a USP-1 preamplifier would make a pair of Vandersteen 3As rock.

Thanks for the reply. I have to say I really don't know where to start with amplification or what other components to buy besides the fact that I want those Vandersteen's and something that will make them sound as amazing as possible.
I only chose McIntosh because they're so well known. The price, however, might be too much for me to afford.
The Emotiva brand seems really intriguing and really, really affordable. But why can't I find many reviews of this brand online? What is the difference between this brand and other, more well known brands?
I just want to make sure that I'm making the right purchase since I cannot afford to make the wrong decision.
in the US, manufactured in China with strict QA/QC, and direct marketed to the consumer. This keeps costs down, yet provides good quality.
The Emotiva ERC-2 CD player is reviewed by Stephen Meijas in the December Stereophile.

I have the Emotiva USP-1 preamp, two Emotiva UPA-1 monoblock amplifers and an Emotiva ERC-1 CD player feeding my Magnestand modified Magnepan MMGs and Rythmik F12 subwoofer. I doubt I could get a much better sounding system for the $1200 I paid for the Emotiva stuff for three to four times that cost. I have it driving $3500 in loudpspeakers and subwoofer.
Remember, you can try Emotiva gear for 30 days and if it does not serve your purposes return it for a full purchase price refund.
Here is a review of my preamp and monoblocks:
