Unfortunately, Wes has been having severe health issues for some time now and has not been able to contribute to the magazine.
John Atkinson
Editor, Stereophile
Hi John,
I'm so sorry to hear this.
When you speak with him, please send Wes my very best wishes.
Best regards,
Barry

Man, that's sad news. You're in my thoughts, Wes.
Lee
Please give my reguards, also, to Wes.
Get well, Wes.
Having Wes out on the DL is a total drag.
Wes, if you are out there, give "Feed" by Mira Grant a try and see if it holds up to any of the Joe Pitt books.
("World War Z" is also pretty terrific zombie fiction, too.)
You are greatly missed, Wes.
Best wished from our house.
Sorry to all of you for posting this message.
My name is Antonio and I need your help to design a concpet for a perfect User-Friendly audio seprate. Visit my post in this General Rants n' Raves message: http://www.stereophile.com/content/user-friendly-interfaces-sudio-separate
Thanks in advance for your support.
Antonio
so sorry to hear about wes' severe health issues. he is one of the humane, done to earth, authentic good guys. i, too, have been missing his written presence in sterophile. i do hope he realizes that he has a 'world' of fans who miss him, miss his writing and wish him the best. i keep my fingers and toes crossed on his behalf.
john
Hey Antonio, you are truely a world class loser for spamming a thread about the illnes of a beloved Stereophile writer. Fuck off and die, shithead.
Best wishes to Wes. One of my favorite Stereophile staffers, a guy who makes the hobby fun.
Hey Dr. Spivey -- Sloooow down there. I don't think Antonio meant any harm in his post or any disrespect to Wes.
Antonio: please keep your post limited to your designated thread.
Gee whiz, Ariel,
What Antonio's intentions were, seem to be indicated by his actions. Reviving a dormant thread about Wes to promote his own enterprise is, to me, the epitome of disrespect. I suppose I could take the view that the man is blissfully unaware, in which case I'd have given him a shot anyway.
I do appreciate your efforts to moderate the forum, and I suppose I may have contacted you and let you handle it. I'm just not a real feelings oriented person, once certain lines are crossed. In hindsight, I guess "fuck off and die" was a bit much, but I'm cool with the rest of it. If that sounds like half an apology, it's because it is.
We wish Wes well
Perhaps we could all post something amusing for him to read
Can anyone provide an update on Wes?
The last update was on Audio Asylum by JA and Wes himself - several months ago.
In a reply last year, JA said Wes was in "poor health". Then Wes had a fall (with complications) earlier this year. So it seems like a multi-faceted problem......
I greatly miss Wes' reviews, but far more important, I wish him a recovery to strong health!
Wes, you are in my prayers.
May your recovery be speedy. You are missed.
Jeff
Being about a year behind in my S'phile reading, I had no idea Wes was ill until I happened on this thread. I have always enjoyed his work. Hopefully, he will have a speedy and complete recovery, and be back at work doing what he obviously loves.
I remember reading from Wes was the YG Acoustics Anat Reference speakers, and it was a dandy review to read. Take care Wes and if you need anything you know alot of us guys would step forwards.
Anyone have an update on Wes?
Happy New Year!
I see Wes is still listed in this months issue as an SCE. Can anyone tell us if he will return and if his health issues have improved, please.
