Tom Scholz, founder of Boston, developed a recording studio in his basement. You may want to figure out what he did. He graduated from MIT. He created magic in that basement studio all by himself. This is the guy you need to find out about.
Seriously, you asked in the Open Bar Forum? Seriously????? Most people that post in here have NO interest in audio or music just wanting to rant and rave about politics and show what an ass they are. Please try another website like Gearslutz and other professional recording forums. This place sure ain't it!
Yeah, I can see that.
Lamont, your post about Tom Scholz has to be the first audio related post I've ever seen you post on here. Are you feeling well?
He came staggering into the bar and asked an audio related question.
Ditto.
I asked the question in The Open Bar -- not sure why? b/c it didn't quite fit anywhere else. There used to be some home recorders on this forum, and I trust the opinion of many people on this site. I also don't fear not getting a response. Shit. I work with JA, and he's the king of DIY recording, but you never know what kind of insight you can gain from asking others.
Most people that post in here have NO interest in audio or music just wanting to rant and rave about Geoff Kait to ad-nauseum and show what an ass they are.
..sound familiar?
You are pretty good at being an ass day after day with your weird psychotic obsession with liberals. Defending Mr Kait are you so he can sell more fraudulant products? Good job! Go back to ranting about liberals it's what you do best.
When I was younger we used to beat the shit out of dumbass people. My high school was teaching Darwin and we figured it was just the right thing to do.
LMFAO!
Problem is.. if you beat the shit out of some dumbass people, there could possibly be nothing left of them.
Personal experience? You are certantly full of it So you defend Mr Kait and what he sells? Ever bought anything from him? Care to give us a glowing review of his "products"? Thought not now run along and rant and foam at the mouth some more litle boy.
"Now, out of respect for the OP and his question, I won't engage you anymore in your attempt to derail the OP's thread."
What a joke, you offered nothing to OP from the beginning. Hence you prove me right once more when I asked him why he bothered to ask in this forum. Typical.
see title
you are all annoying :-)
I'm just gonna ask JA for advice.
Why didn't you just ask him in the first place???????? I still say Gearslutz would be a good bet also, but hey why take any good advice?
when i first started typing this forum post, JA was actually in our cubicle so i passed the question onto him
and he gave me some good direction
i'm just always curious to hear as many different ideas as possible, and that requires different people
the phrase about me asking JA previously in this thread was just kind of a dramatic device.
Ariel,
I wish I could assist you in providing some info on recording, but I have never recorded anything. We just all get together for a jam every once in a while at my house which is rare. Mostly its just me and the cat jamming. lol!
Thankfully you live in N.Y. where you have many recording engineers at your disposal. If I ever wanted to record, I would have to go to Nashville and find someone around that area to hook me up.
Good luck man! let us know the results.
Small bands and individuals are recording themselves all the time in the "modern" age using relatively inexpensive computer programs and equipment. Gearslutz, Gearslutz..........GEARSLUTZ how many times do I have to suggest that???????? Get with the times and educate yourself. You don't need a dedicated professional recording studio to get the same results. If people are too lazy to put in the hours to find out how to do it then that's their problem.
