Maybe I was too specific. Let's ask a simpler question. Should I worry that I'll be hearing the two turntables on two different sets of speakers, or am I overthinking things?

Thanks again.

i think that you will hear general differences in character.  it will probably be different enough that you can make a choice without too much head-scratching.  understand that everything else will be different too such as the cartridges and phono pre-amps.

i believe that you will hear a greater bass weight with the clearaudio.  regas tend to be precise with great p.r.a.t. but not the deepest bass becasue their philosophy is not to push the table beyond what it does well.  this is not to say that the clearaudio will not do bass well, but it will put emphasis on what its designers wanted to acheive.  in this price range, there will be compromise, you just have to decide which compromise you can enjoy better.

then remember that everything else you change will change the performance, but not the basic character.  i.e. as an absurd example, putting a $5,000 benz micro lps on the rega will give it more of everything, but the general fast and lively character will remain and you will not get everything possible from such a cartridge.

i expect that you will enjoy hearing both of these tables.  these are two fine manufacturers and neither table is a bad choice.

hope this helped.  good luck, let us know.
