The ZP90 is limited to 44.1kHz and 48kHz sample rates. Don't know about the PS3's handling of hi-rez files. Your MacBook will decode hi-rez files though not files sampled at 88.2kHz. SO basically, your hardware is not up to the task, I am afraid.

I have been doing some more research. What about a mini-toslink adapter for my macbook pro? Then I could run optical to my Pioneer receiver and use that DAC correct?
I was able to turn on the 24/96 playback of my MBP on under utilities->audio midi setup.
That will work fine as along as the DAC in the Pioneer receiver is up to the task. However, check your MacBook Pro's internal output with AudioMidi Setup to see if it will support 88.2kHz files as well as 96kHz. If not, then the Mac will sample-rate convert the 88.2kHz files, which might negate the sonic advantages of the higher resolution.

I keep wondering why Sonos doesn't upgrade their line to handle 24/96. It would be nice competition to Logitech.
