How old are you?

Reader "craig" writes: "Okay, let's get right to it. What is the age of <I>Stereophile</I>'s readers? The reason I ask is the choice of 'favorite music' in a recent Vote question." So how old are you?

When you run 5 miles/day and your bones still "creak," you're constantly reminded that you've crossed the 50 year threshold.

Been reading your mag since I was in my mid 20s.

I've been reading Stereophile since age 18.

My physical age is irrelevant. Music has kept me younger than the years suggest.

I'm 59, so I'm probably a decade older than your average audiophile. I truly wish there were more 20-something 'philes and I'm tired of hearing they can't afford to get into the game. It's easier than ever to find great used gear, and they could buy a decent setup for the price of a laptop. They just have to want good audio badly enough to get into the game.

Been reading since I was a teenager and will keep reading till they pry the remote out of my cold, dead hand.

As a 22-year-old, my system isn't quite where I would like it to be. Maybe after paying off some college bills it will be, but for me its all about enjoying the music, which my modest system still allows me to do.

I'm 36 and just starting to enjoy both the sound and the science.

I'm 28 and have been an avid reader for the past 6 years. I love the comprehensive objective component to the subjective reviews.

Been in to audio since I could walk.

I'm 50 this year and happily surprised to arrive with hearing and interest in new (and old) music intact.

Though not audiologist tested, at 46 I still have excellent hearing. (No guns, hunting, war, machine shops, boiler rooms, rock concerts, etc.)

I'm 17. Hahaha.

Technically, I'm not 41 until the first week of September, but I voted 41-50 anyway.

I'm 61—and still happily listening to my Original Large Advent Loudspeakers, purchased in the early 1970s. Mahler still rocks on those babies!

Born 12/25/50, my first record purchase was Dick and Dede's "When You're Young and In Love" (not the Van McCoy song) and I still replay it in my head. My latest vinyl buys were The Kooks, Drive By Truckers, Levon Helm, Link Wray, and Moby. On my next order list are Jenny Lewis w/Watson Twins, Tokyo Police Club, The Herbalizer, Steve Winwood, Shelby Lynn, and Pink Martini. It's not all about age, "craig".

Why is there no option to answer in binary numbers? Because then I, too, could be perfect forever....

Been at this audiophile obsession for 36 years. Over all this time its the music that counts regardless of equipment brand or expense.

I listen with eclectic tastes to most genres. My source is predominantly vinyl since birth and the system is valve driven. Happy listening!

My favorite music is inextricably connected to my age.
