Since I'm into second-hand LPs, it all depends on what turns up. My most recent binge—er, buying trip included a Handel Harpsichord & Lute music LP, a copy of "Camelot," a Verdi opera, and last and maybe least, "Bagpipe Marches of Scotland." (Hey, at 25 cents for a new, sealed LP, how could I refuse?)

Diana Krall's "When I Look in Your Eyes." One of her best albums.

Ice by Trial Balloon, an indie I found on CDBaby.com. It rocks too.

Morphine, "The Night." Very poignant for a last album from Mark Sandman.

I just purchased three CDs: Kenny Wayne Shepherd, "Live On." Jimmy D. Lane, "Legacy." Jonny Lang, "Wander this World."

Dru Hill. What an awful-sounding CD. I gave it to my ladyfriend. She loved it. Well! She does like me.

Just bought the 3cd set by the Magnetic Fields, "69." A collection of sixty nine love songs. Great pop well crafted. Aside from that I collect used jazz on vinyl. Most recent vinyl purchase, Teddy Wilson, Tribute to Fats Waller on Black Lion, John Handy, "No Coast Jazz," "Bennie Wallace Plays Monk," on Enja, Art Pepper, "Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at the Village Vanguard," on Contemporary. I'm also listening to a collection of Klezmer music on CD entitled, "Between Heaven and Earth." There is way too much good software and not enough time!

David Sanborn's "Inside." I am in awe of Sting's cover of the wonderful old Bill Withers tune, "Ain't No Sunshine." I've never paid much attention to Sting before, but that's gonna change. Great CD!

Blue Man Group: Audio is not bad, it just doesn't meet my expectations. It lacks the range and color of the live performance. The disc is in HDCD format, which helps the dynamics. The disc would be nothing but noise without it.

Catatonia, "Equally Cursed and Blessed." It's goddamn brilliant.

Strange Cargo III (William Orbit): some New Age with a lot of punch.

Coco Montoya's new release, "Suspicion." Awesome guitar work, overall mix pretty good! Worth a shot!

Delbert McClinton-One Of The Fortunate Few. It's in heavy rotation.

Brendan Perry's "Eye of the Hunter." This is a solo effort since leaving Dead Can Dance. Very nice, airy sound to this recording, done at Quivvy Church. I found a track from the album available to download from Atomic Pops website. Great idea! It made the sale. Bonus to get it on vinyl!!

Holly Cole's "Dark Dear Heart." It is the best album I have heard in 10 years.

Joni Mitchel's "Both Sides Now." I hated it.

The Color and the Shape by the Foo Fighters is my most recent addition, even though it is an older album. I originally bought it for one track, but after the first complete listen-through, I realized that there are talented musicians (Dave Grohl, namely) who play alternative rock. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a glimpse of what good alternative sounds like. The musicianship (mostly Dave Grohl) is excellent, and the recording is better than any other alt. record that I have heard.

The Goldberg Variations performed by the Canadian Brass. It's very good—lots of new discoveries from JSB.

The last MFSL release! "Roy Orbison Sings Lonely and Blue." Haven't heard it, probably never will! Too rare to open. Pick them up while you still can.

Mark Knopfler "Golden Heart". Bought this to listen to HDCD recording and really amazed, how clear the music is compared to regular CD.

My most recent purchases are not recent releases, and they are both good. "Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating in Space" by Spiritualized and "Damaged" by Black Flag have helped me soothe a recent retro phase concerning psychedelia and punk I have been experiencing lately.

Bt - Movement In Still Life. House , trance , ambient electronica CD. Very well done, he is among the best in the genre.

Shelby Lynne. "I AM Shelby Lynne" Great songwriting and vocals. Sound quality is average. One good song after another. Very good buy.

Scheherazade, on Referance Recordings The best that I've heard in years. Sometimes you don't expect much from a showstopper in the way of inner beauty or true musicality but this time your rewarded with both in abundance. Highly recomended!
