Good choices. The Kimber is particularly nice.
A 3 1/2 inch spread at 85 feet with a pistol is very good. I'm impressed.
I have one picture from the range showing my closed hand able to cover her spread from that distance.
Sounds dirty when I say it, but you know what I mean.
We aren't fully committed to the Beretta in case you have any last minute 9mm advice. (The Sig P226 E2 was also a finalist, and the FNX 9 couldn't come to Cali.)
Those are pretty big pistols. What is your carry gun? I use a S&W .32 H&R magnum J frame...
Buddha, get a smith and wesson M+P and be done with it. Seriously. I have owned about 15-20 sidearms, and the M+P is by far the most accurate, rugged piece I have ever used.
he M&P has metal sights, the Glock's are plastic.
The M&P has a through-hardened stainless steel slide, the Glock has a case-hardened coated steel slide.
The M&P has a stainless steel barrel with a fully-supported chamber, the Glock has a blued steel barrel with a partially unsupported chamber.
The M&P has an ambidextrous slide release, the Glock has a right-handed slide stop.
The M&P has a more ergonomic grip with interchangeable palm swells, the Glock has a flat grip with a one-size-fits-all mentality.
The M&P has standard metal drop-free mags, polymer-coated Glock mags often have to be pulled from the well when empty.
The M&P has replaceable slide rails, to replace the slide rails on a Glock, one has to replace the entire frame.
All M&Ps have accessory rails, some compact Glocks lack the rail.
The M&P has a larger trigger guard to accomodate shooters wearing gloves, the Glock is more difficult to shoot wearing gloves.
S&W's customer service is second-to-none
Thanks, I will check it out!
Much appreciated.
I have the PX4 Storm. It's a good concealed carry. Teddy is right about the M&P.
Make sure you wear good hearing protection, Buddha. I am told that firearm discharges are a significant cause of damaged hearing, particularly in the low treble.

Thanks, man.
Fascinating subject.
There seems to be an upper limit to the degree of attenuation one can achieve with plug and/or muffs at around 35 dB....because your head bone can actually convey sound to your ears.
That number is likely a little "flexible," with higher frequencies benefitting more....even to 40 or 50-ish dB attenuation.
Paradoxically, some muffs can actually add noise back when put on over an ear plug, with the muff delivering more impulse "loudness" via it's contact with the skull.
I've run into some that subjectively increase the loudness of my environment when placed over a good plug!
A decent review.
A rifle shot can reach 130-170 dB, depending on the expert you ask. So, even with attenuation, those impulses can go above the pain threshold.
For handguns, the impulse is, as I recall, about 120 dB at one meter, so with good attenuation, 85-90 dB to the ear.
I use foam plugs and muffs with a very compliant seal along their edge.

I read one cool article comparing the sonic characteristics of a gunshot vs. what the listener perceived, and alot of the perceived content was decided to be perceived more due to the ear's resonant frequency than the sound the shot actually made, with the greatest perceived volume above 15KHz!
Suppressors are illegal in Cali, but that would also help.
Heck, I even wear my attenuator plugs when I fly....trying to be paranoid.
My kid did a Science Fair project last year that showed ear-to-ear differences based on "phone handedness" for people who use cell phones. The "used" ear was almost always demonstrably different than the less used ear, with significant reductions in hearing acuity!
Can you hit what you're aiming at?
I went out today. Bore sighted my M40 in the house for 200 yards. Took it out and was .25 MOA off. You shoot more handgun ammo in one outing than I shoot in a couple of months. You probably hit what you're aiming at. I shoot every weekend but alternate between rimfire rifle, centerfire rifle, pistol, and trap shooting. I've been shooting since I was 10 years old. It never gets old and each time is a learning experience.
One thing I've certainly noticed is some days I got it, others....not so much.
I will be interested in seeing how it goes with the same gun each week.
Cheers, man.
let me know when you check out the M+P!
it is pretty cheap too.. about 300 bucks I believe?
Thats a helluva lot cheaper than my Glock 17 was. The one thing I like about the Glock is the breakdown when cleaning. Only about 7 parts.
I can't hit the right side of a barn
Yes. Beautifully designed.
