To answer your question, Alan, yes, I would be OK with you leaving.

I agree with Welsh and understand JV's viewpoint.

I sometimes wonder how any cable or IC can cost more than a very good amplifier. Also, some gear is IMO way overpriced for the product.

I also realize a manufacturer has the right to charge what they want and can get for any item.

Of course, I have the right to not buy whatever I don't want for any reason my mind can come up with.

General Rants n Raves is intended to be a place for general discussion of all things audio or Stereophile-related. The Open Bar is intended for open discussion of things not related to audio.

We started The Open Bar because enough people -- not just Republicans, as Jan suggests -- wanted it.

But the R's were the first to enter the forum - JIMV specifically - to say they wanted their opinions to be heard on this forum due (supposedly) to the perceived "liberal" comments (many of them about W's handling of the wars and the sinking economy if I remember correctly) being placed in Stereophile by a few writers. I didn't hear any liberals clamoring for equal opportunites and I doubt the Open Bar would have existed at all had the R's not been so vocal in their demands. Don't confuse the means and the end result, SM.

Man, I need to get out more often. I had no idea this thread was going on at the time. I've read through the posts by other members that expressed their views. I will make a concerted effort to show a little more respect and still remain the funniest smartest dude on the planet. Of course, I now realize that it runs in the family and it is probably genetics. : I ran that idea through my brother and he told me to STFU.
