What got us through the Great Depression was WWII, not rhetoric.

More Repub claptrap BS, it has long been considered fact the Depression was lengthened by Roosevelt not going far enough in his response. That the R's believe war is the answer to everything is the only reason your idiocy has stuck around. Well, that and the fact R's will believe everything they are fed without bothering to fact check anything. Too bad you're confused by succinct verbage in the second sentence. Translated it means you are an Apocalyptic Whore. You profit off the sweat of others and hope for the complete destruction of society so you can sit alone and count your gold. A $400 can of peaches sounds good, eh?

Last I heard - this AM - gold is still at a price, what was it? 40% lower than its inflation adjusted high. No matter, to bet on gold is to bet on the Apocalypse. That's why it's so appealling to the Glenn Beck crowd.

Quote:
As usual, your rhetoric gets in the way of any possibility for clear thought.

As usual having your head up your ass while watching gold prices has resulted in your inability to understand plain English. Actually, the image of your fat ass repulsed me. Only the concept of your wet noodle picked me up as this means you are no longer able to fuck anyone. Though, I am curious, considering your dick is so difficult to find with your own two hands, who told you it had lapsed into "noodleness"? Lamont?

Quote:
The cheapest and most trivial rhetorical device is merely taking the part for the whole.

Actually, the most trivial device is to completely ignore the difference in the let's all get it done together rhetoric of the Left and that of all the others. What cheapens it further is to have no rhetoric of your own in defense. When bragging about how much you are hedging against the Apocalypse is your only defense, you have reached the bottom of the shit bucket and begun to dig through even that.

Quote:
"Small people think small." I beg to differ.

You can do so, I understand our current moderator has no problem with that. However, as you have proven you have no logic even in betting on the Apocalypse, why bother? You have no facts, you have no argument that withstands even the vaguest of scrutiny so you have nothing but your promises of gold and your Repub claptrap. Both quite worthless in the end. You will have gold and wealth to buy what from whom after the bomb falls thanks to the warmongers on the Right?

Quote:
You have become quite a nasty little bitch

Don't sweet talk me, cliffy. I told you that you could kiss my ass but nothing more no matter what you promise.

Quote:
I don't think your wife has a dick. I think your HUSBAND has one, and I don't think it is large enough to satisfy the hole between your eyes -- the one where your brain used to be.

Oooooh, what? did you ask the other kids if they thought that was a good comeback? Don't tell me, you're auditioning to be the the South Park stand in should Lamont ever get caught. Oooooh, too bad Ariel hasn't declared you "humorous" too.

What was the thread topic again? Oh, yeah, how the donks won! The Politico has a piece about how the donks won:

but it is my responsibility to understand and redirect conversations if needed (ie moderation)

Then please understand Lamont is not funny and South Park doesn't belong on a public forum.

You also have the ignore feature on this forum. If you dont wanna see Lamont or hear him, put him on your ignore list and be done with it

Actually, what's needed here is an "ignore" function that keeps Lamont's posts from showing up. I am not engaging in a debate with Lamnont, that would be ueless when his level of rhetoric is that of South Park. I'm asking that you be fair in who and how you moderate the forum. "Redirecting" is about as useful as ... well, I suppose, about as useful as me expecting moderation from this forum or that we actually discuss audio for a change.

Quote:
dont care. i judge each thread on a post by post basis. and dwelling over past gripes doesn't help us move forward.

Neither does ignoring the past and now we are reliving the BS of Alan. Thank you for that. You seem not to care about a lot of things.

I will try to hold the standard that if the post is not a personal insult, but a contribution to the topic discussion (with intense sarcasm or not), its almost always ok.

Gosh, I guess I missed the "contribution to the topic" just made by LS and cliffy or how they acted as the "bigger man" and just went about their business.

I look forward to a long and frustrating experience with you, Ariel. (Insert smile on my face; Ooops! wrong emoticon!)

Your anger is a natural part of dealing with loss, Jan. It's one of the early stages, but it's completely natural to spend a certain amount of time in the "anger" phase. I suppose trying to find a "win" out of the other night could be considered part of the "bargaining" phase, which is quite common to overlap with the anger phase.

It's a process, Jan. Keep working on it and you'll be in the "acceptance" phase before you know it.

I meant "at all". More like banishing him to some outer region of the galaxy with Zod.

We're still talking about insults and useless BS not showing up on the forum at all, right? Then one person not seeing what LS posts doesn't quite solve that problem, does it? His "dick" would still remain for all to see.

I've always thought there should be a better way to keep the forum civil without resorting to totally ignoring others.

You forget it is also childish to gloat - most especially so when there is no good reason. The Dems still retain the majority in the Senate and the bully pulpit and veto pen of the Executive branch. What the R's have to celebrate is the future cat fights within their own party and becoming the useful foil to Obama's plans.

Congratulations! You've won the booby prize and I do mean "booby" in its most complete form.

Well, I guess a step backwards to the "denial" phase is to be expected. Some people heal quicker than others. Maybe tomorrow you'll wake up and not be so angry. The next thing you know you'll put several days like that together and maybe even whistle a tune on your way out the door.

Don't give up trying, Jan. I know you have it in you.

So, making someone a nonperson is civil, then?

Figures you'd think that.

jj, we don't often agree on audio but on this, I couldn't have said it any better. I just knew suggesting civil conversation as the best alternative would be a foreign concept to LS.

Even former Ohio State coach Woody Hayes got a mention by Boehner. He apologized to newly elected Rep. Jon Runyan (R-N.J.), a former NFL player who played for the Michigan Wolverines.

"Woody Hayes wasn't big on gloating after a win," Boehner said. "He told his team: 'Once we get winning, [if] anybody comes up to congratulate you, kick them in the shins, unless it's a little old lady over 80. Pats on the back soften you.'"

I'm not sure tht this thread title is wrong. Looking at what totally whackadoodle things the "newly elected mandate" is arguing for, they may shoot themselves in the foot before they even take their oath of office.

Creationists, gold-standard weenies, white supremicists, ...

All the worst anti-American types you can imagine.
