If you're on about the Meridian F80 tuner /CD-DVD player it doesn't cost anything like $30,000. I've one in the kitchen and although it wasn't cheap it sure doesn't sound cheap. It will probably be the 'system' I take with me to the old audiophool's nursing home when they cart me off. As to abusing it to listen to the insanity of US political discussion no thank you. You can keep your unhinged political hallucinations to yourselves thank you.

Yeah, I wish the Republicans and Tea Party types would have the openess and transparency associated with Democratic majority's approach to Obama care and the current budget. The Republicans would sell out to the special interests to the last moment and you would not know what was in the health care bill until months after it passed! And the Republicans would deny their constitutional mandate to produce a budget by deeming it passed so they spend all they wanted and say they did not vote for it come re-election time.

Not the Democrats! They put the health care bill on the internet for America to see for 72 hours just like our transparent President said he would!

Ok, enough for sarcasm. O'Donnel is a dunce. But to think and suggest that the Democrats have been supportive of the free flow of information and transparency shows a complete lack of critical thinking and/or difficulty in distinguishing fact from fantasy.

Whichever the case, they are getting cut off in just a few days.

I believe 'openness and transparency' are not exactly words one could use without being laughed at when speaking of ObamaCare...2000 plus pages of gibberish released hours before debate and the vote belies that idea.

It is hard not to be sarcastic when one reads the left describing themselves. It is so often an exercise in fiction and fantasy....a cross between an acid trip and Rafal Olbinski's surrealism.

Something so off as to beggar the imagination.

Yeah,

It was so transparent and clear to the point that Nancy Pelosi said we need to pass the healthcare legislation first THEN find out whats actually in the bill after we pass it. She's a padded room case study.

And to think, the leftists want to attack Sarah Palin 24/7 instead when she has never put forth any legislation that has confiscated wealth or denied certain individual freedoms.

Yeah.

These days it's a gas when the spendthrifts, otherwise known as the "increase the income gap Republicans", who are the suckers for the people who are making them more low-class every tday, talk about fiscal responsibility.

And ditto on the Democrat's health care bill, but you KNOW that the world is upside down when you can convince poor people to vote against health care. All those lies about Obama really seem to work.

Hello!!! O'Donnel was trying to have her own speech suppressed! Read much? She is a loon, everyone is agreed on this point. That much of her state would vote for the loon rather than the Democrat is your problem.

Buddha, I am no Republican. I am a conservative. Bush was never my guy. Big government enslaves the people no matter who is in office.

And anyone who worries about equitable income distribution thinks like a communist as is not worth attending to. America is built on freedom of opportunity. Stupid so called poverty legislation keeps the income distribution skewed by paying people to be poor.

Ben Franklin said that any country that cares for the poor should assist them in being uncomfortable in their poverty. He further said that any country that highly subsidizes the poor will have more of them. Smart man that Ben.

People from Latin American countries have a saying: Let's go to America where the poor people are fat.

It is telling, of course, that this dishonest, lying bigot attempts to define someone who has pointed out an attempt by his fellow-travellers to silence political discussion as "communism".

He's certainly learned how to "define the opponent", lie about the opponent, and try to change the subject away from his own group's fascist attempts to silence all dissent. It's funny, looking below, this liar is insinuating that I'm quoting Marx or Engels, which is an insulting, dishonest thing to say to any capitalist like me, when in fact he's using the same methods that implimentations of Marx and Engels used to silence dissent.

Of course, he also uses the typical Goebbels tactic of "repetition is the linchpin of propaganda". I guess that really isn't surprising.

Quote:

Gosh, could you be any more obviously dishonest?

Probably, but I'll withold judgement until we see if you actually try to justify your fantastical religion of pure capitalism.

If this mythical, fantastical "invisible hand" works, how do we see such a skew in employee compensation? Are you really going to tell me that any one person actually adds 1,000,000 times the wealth to the system of another working person? Really? IF you claim so, prove it. Note, I don't mean "money created from nothing via stock manipulation" but rather solid, material substance and/or services that amount to that ratio. Can you put your facts where your mouth is? Let's see you try.

But no, you'd rather LIE and go into red-baiting, instead of admit that your mythical system of choice is utterly broken, and just as much a religion as the stupidity that is communism.

Show me the evidence. If you can't, your mythical religion of the "invisible hand" is shown not only to be something you worship, but also something that doesn't work.

The ball is in your court. Class divisions have nothing to do with this, and your vile, despicable attempt to portray me as anything but a moderate, informed CAPITALIST is just a smokescreen to hide the fact that your religion doesn't work.

Show us you can get beyond intellectual fraud and 1950's McCarthyist Red Baiting. Are you even capable of doing anything beyond spouting what Crush Bimbo puts in your head? You act like a golem, you only know what's on the scrap of paper in your head.

Show me how any Wall Street executive is in fact worth 1,000,000 times as much to the economy as a hardworking garbage collector.

1000 times I could swallow. 1000000 is going to be a lot harder to prove.

I fail to see how your class argument has anything to do with mine...at its best it is a false either/or logical fallacy...either one is an overpaid wall street exec or a poor downtrodden garbage collector, ignoring the fact that 99% of the folk in the world are neither Wall St execs nor underpaid garbage collectors. It also ignores the fact that a lot of garbage collectors make a very good income...

What do you think a wall st exec makes? A garbage collector?

a million times more? That is simply hyperbole...

lets try some math.

Average wall st exec made $622K in 2006

http://www.boston.com/business/articles/...e_makes_622000/

Lets make it $700K today

A Seattle garbage collector makes around $60K

http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_much_money_does_a_garbage_collector_earn

In NYC the salary without overtime after 5 years in the job is $68K

So, lets say 60K and divide that into the salary of the evil wall st exec and what do we have..12 times more??

Now on my planet a 12 times higher salary is not a, what number did you use, oh, yes..."1 million times"...but wait, you wrote "1000 times I could swallow".

I guess you are thrilled with real numbers...but then again, you seem to like DemCount.

I hope this serves as a real world, real numbers example of my "proving this"...Not that it matters as it can not be true unless you get it from the DNC Fax laundered through their media.

1000 times I could swallow. 1000000 is going to be a lot harder to prove.

Care to prove this, or are you just going to continue your uniformed, unsubstantiated ranting?

OK, let's see....

According to the Teamster's published data, a garbage collector earns 65,000 bucks a year, on average.

1,000,000 times that would be 65 billion dollars per year.

Nobody earns that, man.

According to CNN Money, Larry Elison is the highest earning CEO at 84.5 million per year, of which he is paid 6.1 million in cash and the other earnings are reported via the rise in his stock value.

Top 20 CEO income data

So, if we call it 85 million, he earns 1,307 times what the garbage collector in your example earns. That's damn close to what you say you can swallow!

Oracle's stock rose 33% in 2009.

Oracle's market cap went from 110 billion to 147 billion that year.

He was in charge of a 37 billion dollar increase in value for his stockholders.

His company's value went up 435 times the amount of his "salary package," even though the company only wrote him a check for 6.1 million! Total bargain!

If you look at the cash cost of his 6 million, he got paychecks totalling only 1/6,167th the amount he was in charge of in increased company value for the year.

That's 0.0062% of the company's growth going out to Larry the CEO in paychecks.

Cash-wise, Larry got almost exactly 100 times the paycheck value of the garbage man. Less, actually.

Do you think the garbage collector generated 6,167 times his paycheck in value to those he served?

Also, what have you got against garbage men?

I said, "Shiftless."

By that, I mean the professionally unemployed who sit around collecting checks and opining that they will only go back to work at their previous pay grade and job description.

Screw that.

If people really wanna get rid of illegal immigrants, start doing those jobs instead of sucking at the teat of welfare or unemployment.

For a liberal, is "workfare" a legitimate thing to expect?

Then to the TV to prove our setup capable of tuning into the lefts alphabet soup networks and then your radio to discover if you ave the local NPR or Air America dross...

As I am not going to be doing any of that, I will have to judge the source of your material by what you post, and as long as what you post is simply rewarmed class envy rhetoric astoundingly common on the left coupled with the usual cries of 'lies' and 'liars', well, I feel comfortable noting your colors...

More "define the opponent" with utter lies like "Marxist can't" and "DNC talking points", but no proof that there is even such at thing as a DNC Fax.

I haven't seen any, for sure. I HAVE seen some of the RNC faxes, for a while they were pretty sure I'd come back into the fold, and I can tell you that you are just EXACTLY following the 'define the opponent' route.

So, you don't know if there is such an thing as an DNC fax, you lie about "Marxist cant", etc. Just "define the opponent" and then LIE LIE LIE.

It is funny, not very accurate, but funny. Fortunately, come Tuesday, those imaginary threats to our liberty will recede a good bit...Who knows, if the republican do as they promise for a change, we might not see as much government bloat and waste in a couple of years.

Put in audio terms...If a PrimaLuna Dialogue is a great $3000 amp, if built and sold by the dems it would be a mediocre $50K amp...and come with a lifetimes debt and a score of bureaucrats who sort of don't do anything but cost us money and issue conflicting regulations on how to operate the thing.

The republicans would do the same for $30K and there would be fewer regulations with at least a few in English.

Put in audio terms...If a PrimaLuna Dialogue is a great $3000 amp, if built and sold by the dems it would be a mediocre $5 (numbers removed by jj, ergo quote modified to make a point here so don't blame jimv for it) amp

Fixed that for you, summing up both the best and the worst of dummycraptic politics.

I already voted, what's your problem? As to '3 days', I'd say "3 days until the country starts to its final throes of economic failure", well, unless the rest of the country has more brains, sense, and information at hand than you do.

I realize you are wishing for the demise of America. What you haven't explained is why. I mean, we Blue States are really getting tired of carrying your sorry Red State butts, truth be known. When you and your sorry Red State guys vote for succession, we might just let you go, and then we could stop carrying your weight.

That is fantasy again pretending to be fact...Again you overlook the obvious...just an idea for you...who do you think pays the taxes in those blue states? It is not the democrats poor oppressed victim groups whose votes make the states blue...it is the red folk with jobs and money.

JIMV, that would be the people in the blue states, unlike the people in the red states, for whom the people in the blue states also pay taxes.

I'm sorry, but you have no credibility on any tax issues - you live in a socialized state that can't even cover its own tax contributions, yet there is no tebag revolt to take responsibility for yourselves.

None.

You are parasite who are complaining about what? You want even more free stuff?

How about a teabag movement for your dumb ass red states to start paying your fair share?

Amazing.

Now you know why I see the teabaggers as existing at a level below those who dip their balls onto other people. You conveniently overlook your own fiscal parasitism and complain about "Marxism and socialism" while you stuff your pockets with cash from the hard working states.

Parasites is all you teabag states are.

Straight up parasites.

Funny - you are angry, ungratefeul parasites!

Any of you gonna send your free money back?

Blind, too - you guys can't even stand to look at yourselves in a mirror. As I've said before - you guys are pitching an uniformed angry tantrum but can't see your own behavioral problems.

Calling you teabaggers is almost an affront to actual teabaggers!

You red state socialists are a true paradox. Suck the bennies while opining the system.

Perhs J_J is right....is it because you hate America?

Come back when your state reaches parity with the states who contribute.

I have an idea - no representation without taxation....shut up until you are a net contributor, Idaho!

I am open to a rebuttal about the red state tax parasitism. Mark has already replied, and he seems to find it amusing - a further ironic condemnation of the teabag movement. It's funny if we do it and we vote for those guys who do it because they say they love Jesus, hate gays, hate abortion, and the usual bullshit....so it takes our minds off the shame of our "pork" based lifestyle.

JIMV, you guys are an insult to honest taxpayers.

I think I agree with this, sort of...The left pretends it is the party of the poor, the downtrodden, life's victims.

The problem with this conceit is that those groups make up a solid majority of the party. 93% of blacks vote dem...over 60% of the Hispanic vote, an equal segment of the single mom vote, etc etc. As the dems are around 35% of the total possible vote today, that has to mean a majority of their vote is not all that well to do...so, who pays the taxes in all those blue states?

I contend it is the red voting minority.

I suspect the majority of voters in my state would happily decline the feds largess if they could also decline their regulations and taxes.

Hardly, you do not hear the folk here demanding free health care paid for by others...that is a blue state conceit. We still believe in earning a benefit, not getting it for simply breathing.

Perhaps, just like in blue states, the folk in red states that pay the tax burden for all are mostly red voters...

The argument is simple...the vast majority of the lefts party are in self defined victim groups...as victims they surely cannot pay for the goodies the country dishes out..so who does that leave? Red voters, a majority in red states and a minority in blue.

They subsidize the lefts largess...

Or from Alexander Tyler

"A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over lousy fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship."

The sad part it that the 50% who do not vote are often deciding what happens in government. It is kind of odd this has happened when so much struggle was put into who COULD vote and WHEN! It is just a strong suggestion that the anwswer is "none of the above".

Over the years, I have come to understand a critical difference between the world of fear and the world of freedom. In the former, the primary challenge is finding the inner strength to confront evil. In the latter, the primary challenge is finding the moral clarity to see evil
