This is incredible! How hard can it be to provide good service?

The thing is Stephen being a nice guy seems genuinely apologetic and desperate to help. But somehow despite being a significant publication they seem helpless to influence Zinio to fix the problem. It just does not make sense.

I know. I have followed your "whining". Zinio's behaviour is BAD!

Thanks for your patience and your persistence. I think it helped in getting this issue resolved. I've just received word that the print function will be reinstated with all future issues (not only of Stereophile, but for digital editions of all Source Interlink Media publications).

The print function for the current issue -- and for those previous issues that were affected -- will not be reinstated, however.

From what I understand -- and I apologize if this is vague, as it remains a little murky to me -- Zinio was asked to disable the function in order to prevent people from printing Preview pages. Doing so, however, necessitated disabling the function from all pages, including those of regular subscribers. Zinio has now worked out a way to prevent the printing of Preview pages while allowing subscribers to print the issues they've paid for.

Thanks Stephen

Zinio is a wonderful product, but their support sucks.

Unfortunate that they cannot reactivate the print function retrospectively. How hard could that be?

Doesn't Stereophile have service level agreement with Zinio?

My experience with Zinio's customer service has been outstanding. Of course, I realize that my experience may be different from that of most readers. In this particular case, however, the decision to disable the print function didn't come from Zinio, but from Source Interlink Media's corporate office.

I gotta ask- with printing cost at home what it is, and the cost of the Stereophile print version next to nothing, why in the world would you want the digital version to print?

Maybe there's water between where he lives and where Stereophile is so cheaply available in magazine form.
