I love tweaks, but you crossed a line even I wouldn't dare. For filing the tip off your cantilever, you're a braver man than I.

Well, it really isn't that big a deal. Be cool, calm & steady-handed, and it'll turn out well! What's the risk? My cart only cost me $250...

The ideal way to evaluate any tweaks is by just doing one at a time, and then you can be sure what effect each one has on the sound. If for instance one had a retrograde effect then you wouldn't know which one. Not only that but it extends the pleasure you're getting. You've lots more tweaks to try - happy hunting
