Apologies, but why is Kate Bush's daughter getting all this publicity?

The more I think about it, and the more I listen to the new Joanna Newsom album, the more it becomes clear to me that anyone who doesn't like it is completely out of their effing head.
If you want to read what she has to say about her influences including Ruth Crawford Seeger, Van Dyke Parks, Roy Harper, Karen Dalton, The Band and the Kora (she learned to play transcriptions of Kora music on the harp when she was 9 or 10), pick up the current The Wire.
Wait, you mean she doesn't mention Kate Bush? What the?
Well, the song about the big spider is OK, I guess.
I like kate Bush, so I find Nesom's music fine....just soo eerily similar that it takes away a little, for me.
Kate Bush was Kate Bush when I was your age, so maybe my love for a person singing exactly like Kate Bush is inordinately cathected in my brain to Kate Bush; making Miss Newsom's arrival less impactful.
If someone didn't already have a fully stocked Kate Bush cubby in his brain, I expect Joanna would be much more revelatory.
I liked Newsom enough to buy the album. The similarities warranted mentioning, IMHO.
And now I'm gonna have to start collecting Kate Bush albums.
Yes, you are.
Going way back in my brain, back to the Longplayceous Era....there was a music review of a Kate Bush album for which Dave Marsh of Rolling Stone, in the first ROLLING STONE RECORD GUIDE from the 70s, said that she sounded "like the consequences of mating Patti Smith with a Hoover vacuum cleaner."
Anyway, I love Kate, and even more interestingly, she shot to fame at about the same age Joanna started in with her first album.
I wonder if kate was on the cap and trade negotiations between Michael Lavorgna and I for marrying rights to the various pinnacles of feminine pulchritude list.
This pic may fit your blog about record sleeves being incororated into pics, as well.
Nicely put. This would have been a simple summit - I was and remain a Patti Smith fan. l-)
