I'll say this... there seems a distinct lack of women coming here and ll leave that for the rest of you to work out why...
As for LAmont's "new thread", well a simple cut and paste from wikipedia isn't my idea of a tthread, and isn't there some understanding here that wholesale reprinting of other people's material should at the very least be credited?
Maybe/maybe not.
Nevertheless, considering this is the non-audio forum of all the forums (not "fora") here, it seems an odd choice for such and "old hand".
In fact it isn't even something you could discuss, but the first part does seem to include his opinion that it is traditionally his job/role/responsibility to keep people in line and as such I can suggest that he hasn't been an outstanding success.
So what does anyone want to discuss?
How about music?

Dude, it's a Hi Fi forum. Don't over think it.

Yeah, didn't you post on a music forum at AA about five or so years ago?

That must have been tough, being out of the Water Cooler for five minutes.

Can you do it again?

Damn Lamont... I think we just got filliblustered! Actually, I thought it was a kind of clever little posting. Too bad it'll probably end up in the Dead Zone, but it needed to be said.

Cheap comments are just that.
Getting things wrong as you have just done again, makes you look like you're not worth bothering with and you have precisely nothing worthwhile to add.
If that is true, try this: just ignore my posts.
Is that too hard for you?
If you aren't prepared to contribute to a music thread, that's fine, but why do you feel the need to go back to inaccurate crap comments striving to be funny insults?
Are things a little slow in your life?
It seems to me that these forums had very little going on and now they are livelier.
If you don't like that then... errr... hang on, you're joining in so you must like what's going on or you'd ignore it and hope it died a natural death, so how should I consider your contributions?
Half thought out, or just not thought out?
Here's a clue: don't tell me.

The only "discussions" going on seem, due to the unwillingness of the near-death old guard to do anything, to be either things I've started or things about me at least to the extent of a bunch of whining (apparently) right wingers acting up like a group of gout soured pensioners told their lunch will be late.
If that's all you lot have to offer, it comes as no surprise that this forum could be carted away and buried and no one would realise.
Maybe I blinked but I missed the crowd of women rushing for the exit. Maybe they are already bored senseless, which may be the way you'd prefer them.
Whatever.
Don't bother replying, the boredom level here is suffocating... it's obviously already had that effect on most members.
I'm just going to continue posting away and those of you feeling like you've been left in the dust can whine and bleat.
OK, wanna bet you can mange to NOT do that?

Maybe the women Down Under are more manly than those up here, but why you think a niche hobby of audiophilia would EVER attract women in any number is beyond me. It's like asking why there aren't more men on a forum about shoes, or knitting, or or flower arranging. It should be obvious for one, but two: Who cares? And as for "nothing being posted except about you"? well, if it makes you feel more wanted...

This is the side street of the forum; the off-topic section. If you actually glanced at the real sections like Rants n Raves or Entry Level you'd see plenty of topics over the last week. I don't get why anyone would think mere volume is the way to judge the heath of a forum anyway. Some weeks there is more, others less.

Posting just to see the words in your head on screen is not my idea of a good conversation.
