For some reason, many here react like children. Does the word 'genius' bother you that much? Well, that is what I have been told about myself, much of my life, by others. At my age, should I shyly avoid the term? Perhaps 'savant' is a better term.
Better yet is the Yiddish form "shvantz." Especially at your age...
im thinking aspergers is a better categorization
In truth, what I did was that I actively PINGED this website. Using KEY WORDS got the response that I needed to evaluate the bunch of you. You see, you have the advantage of me, I have contributed with my real name for more than 20 years. People write articles on me, as well as interview me. You can find out all about me, but I was in the dark about YOU. Now I know. My only real surprise and disappointment is Buddha, as I have already met him and initially liked him and his audio philosophy. Now, I am not so sure.
Arsbergers Syndrome, yes, late onset Arsbergers Syndrome fits very well. Al, Tom and I appear to have the same symptoms.
Luckily, you have Grosse Fatigue to help you recover from your disappointment.
I don't know what philosophy it is that would predispose you to positively cathect to such an abominable persona.
Your doubt about me spares me from being in the same company as Grosse, so I honestly welcome that. Consider the disappointment mutual.
Well, the conclusion of this mutual dialogue ends with 'ring tail monkey' Then the fists are supposed to fly, at least in the cartoon. ;-)
I would prefer shots ring out....of limoncello.
. . .and they call Alzheimer's Disease "The Long Good Bye."
Luckily, you have Grosse Fatigue to help you recover from your disappointment.
Indeed you grandiloquent and humourless pompous fart
like your friends on this forum
nipping aimlessly at KBK
You can't stomach that
This bunch is idiotic at best
In love with itself, blind and deaf
It can't even appreciate and recognize good music
Hang on froggie !!
The lovefest between Mr Curl and yourself about who should be the next secretary general of the UN because youve taken a few long haul flights and can piss correctly in a japanese toilet is one thing but attacking our musical taste is just not cricket.
What basis have you got for this comment ? there are a lot of very knowledgeable people here who love music.
Alan

Grosse, you need a hobby to take your mind off this place - since you won't leave and won't talk about audio.
Maybe you should take up actually listening to music.
Try it out.
We did not nip aimlessly at KBK, we nipped specifically when he drifting toward your ignorant and conceited style of communication!
There are 3 distinct groups on here
1 - People like DCSSTEP. Struts, Elk and a few more who are specifically are here to discuss music hifi and never get involved in the BS.
2 - Next group is like Buddha, NC, Freako, myself who discuss music, hifi and will also get involved in the BS occasionally
3 - The last group is the ones like JC and Froggie who are here just to swing their manhood around beacuse when they get it out at home the wife just laughes and says come back when your ready !!! very little contribution about music or equipmnet unless its to argue, nothing constructive.
Alan
Alan, I am here, in general to defend Ken Hotte, and others who are constantly back-bitten by this crew. Where is the AUDIO, here?
Back bitten?
Please, you are not defending KBK, you are griefing an audio foum.
Savior complex. God complex. Genius complex.
And still you got it wrong.
Mouthpiece and shill for Teo Audio, specifically Liquid Cable.
Timeline fits, put the pieces together. John has offered the clues. We
I first learned about the liquid cable from Buddha, as he used them at 'The Show'. I had never heard of the company before this, to my knowledge.
Same here. I thought it was an advanced beer-straw
This is true in many countries and applies to people of all origins, not just those from the USA. The converse is true when it comes to the French.
Talk about being judgmental! You neither have a clue nor manners.
Roast beef and Yorkshire pudding, for one. But you have proven yourself undeserving of a list, so there is no point in continuing.
Pot, meet kettle.
Don't let the door hit you on the way out.
Oh Brian, give the guy a break. I have heard you go off like a wet mud-hen in my time.
John
Thats the thing
There are numerous other areas of the Forum where you see the people i mentioned discussing music and hifi in a very friendly helpful way. The issue is that certain people do not seem to be able to differentiate between the rooms, NC and myself for example can have a pissing match in this room about his weird taste in music yet have a polite conversation elsewhere to help a newbie.
People like Froggie are not here to help or be educated, they are just here to be pricks. You are falling into that catagory which i find extremely disappointing, the fact that a world renowned designer is here just for useless pissing matches to defend Ken Hottes $20,000 snake oil cables because we are apparently picking on the poor guy !! and then jumps into bed with the argumantative Froggie !!
Is that your sole purpose on the forum to defend the Snake oil guy ?
Alan
I hate to tell you this, but I like 'snake oil' products, and I am especially interested in these liquid metal cables.
Moi? Coming from you, hardly the model of self restraint, that's pretty funny.
John, I hasten to point out that the liquid metal used in the cables contains no aceite de culebra.
Brian, just because I yelled at you, today, and told you to hang up, does not mean that you have a reason to act in the same way to others.
..Roast beef and Yorkshire pudding, for one...
You forgot granola
This is so funny but I know you are serious
..language barrier..
Still serious: how do you expect to break the language barrier if you don't speak any foreign language?
You take us for granted. You expect us to speak English and we do.
We don't have a "language barrier"
We drive 200 miles and we are in Germany or Italy or Spain or whatever
We don't take people for granted like you
Everybody has to learn two foreign languages in continental Europe
Why don't you try posting in french on a french forum
I am educated moron

It is precisely because you can drive a few 100 miles and be in another country that you speak another language. This is convenience, not an inherent cultural superiority.
I lived in Spain for years, that is why I am fluent in Spanish. I understand Italian easily and my French used to be passable.
I say used to be because once I learned what assholes the French are I lost interest in the language (which is ugly compared to Spanish, Italian or Portuguese).
The only good food you have came from the Spanish Basques (Vascos) and California has been making better wine for more than 30 years(and now we have many countries outdoing you).
You are a failed country, culture and human being.
Mind you, Ravel and Debussy make up for a lot
You've finally come to your senses!
We know you are an educated moron.
That's what we've been telling you.
And you have lots of company that shares your affliction.
Why do you say such things in general about any country? We all have our faults. We all have our good points. It is not such a terrible thing to address the faults of others, and we should be honest about our own faults as a culture, or else, we should not address each other about it at all. Why put each other down for no good reason? What is with this group?
After all, during WW2 American GI's in England were said to be: "Overpaid, oversexed and over here". We all know that it was generally true from the point of view of a young British soldier.
My worst situation with people outside the USA was in Northern Scotland near Loch Ness. They treated me like a ----. They discriminated against me, yet I had lived in London for the previous 5 mo, Europe for the previous 3 years, and I have a lot of Scots blood in me. My name Curl comes from Curling. Go figure. I doubt that they liked Londoners either
\
Perhaps you should turn that gaze inward, Mr. Curl. After all, it was you who called Americans "barbarians". Your own countrymen, no less...
I am not the first to call Americans, barbarians. Only a fool would think otherwise.
ok..but how can you browbeat another forum member for insulting other countries, when you yourself, in this very thread, were guilty of the same thing?? Towards your own countrymen!!! You know, it always sucks to read something like that. I am a Army Grunt at heart, and although it pains me to hear something like that from European folks..to hear our own citizens say such..well, it is horrible. If you want to see barbaric, go to Tikrit. Or Mosul. Or Darfur or Kosovo. Go to Bergen Belsen, or Auschwitz(ive been to both many times).
at any rate, Mr. Curl,if your behavior here is any indication, you are not the man I once thought you to be. You may have accomplished some great things in electronics design, but accomplishments, those are material. A persons graciousness, manners, interactions with others..far more important.
I had great fun in audio forums in the past but this bunch, this generation is stiff boring not unlike G W Bush.
You can't argue, talk about anything with them without father nc or reverend Budha lecturing you about the Bible, the holocaust which they don't know anything about and the greatness of america
"There will be Blood" movie is america
nothing has changed much
>>> "You are falling into that catagory which i find extremely disappointing, the fact that a world renowned designer is here just for useless pissing matches to defend Ken Hottes $20,000 snake oil cables because we are apparently picking on the poor guy" <<<
Why would you want to bring in the PRICE of the 'liquid' cables ? The price is irrelevant as to whether those cables improve the sound or not !! If they DO improve the sound, then THAT fact has to be dealt with - irrespective of whether the price is $20,000 or absolutely FREE !!
Throwing the PRICE of a product or throwing the term "snake oil" into a discussion as to whether something works or not is usually used as a diversionary tactic - to give some people the excuse why they do not need to 'think' !!
Why can't many of you discuss something in terms of audio, sound, pleasure, improvements etc ???????
Regards
May Belt,

I agree that we should talk about the audio aspect.
However for a normal hard working guy spending $20,000 on cables that in some cases cost $100 to make ( not saying all, just some ) is a major issue.
Mt position is not that speaker cables cant improve the sound, its that they do not need to be so expensive, evern Ken himself on here has stated that he will charge as much as he damn well wants for his genius.
Alan
If you're going to argue, at least get your facts straight. The cables you're castigating are around $2,000 not $20,000. Furthermore, I doubt you have any idea how much the cables cost to manufacture. I'm guessing you're one of those cheap-ass DIYers, am I right?
After careful consideration I declare your arguments Strawmen!
John
This really does illustrate perfectly how self centered Americans can be overseas.
I am from a rural area of North Wales, like a lot of other rural areas of the UK be it Wales, Scotland, England we used to hate outsiders. The locals were not very hospitable, we used to hate someone from the next village !!
Its typical that you think this was about you, it was nothing to do with you being American, the Scots are just a dour miserable bunch at times who hate outsiders
I love the Scottish and this is not an attack at them, it is just a simple statement of facts.
Alan
John,
I agree with you, does that seem contradictory?
I have many French friends and we sometimes bash each other's cultural foibles.
GF takes the bashing well and is quite adept at returning fire. It is humor.
I have no doubt we would enjoy a conversation and glass of wine. He would have to drink Californian and I would drink French.
"We drive 200 miles and we are in Germany or Italy or Spain or whatever"
or, they drive 200 miles and Germany is in you.
grosse, guess its a good thing we "barbarians" helped you out with your little german problem a few years ago.
tc
Agree. He might also take a look at Spanish bullfighting. Or Arabs. Or Chinese, or Afghans... Americans are barbarians? Jesus!
The word 'Barbarian' is a relative one, much like it was with the Romans who coined it. Anyone, uncouth enough, is a 'barbarian' I like to refer to myself as Conan the Librarian, because I wallow in so many books and documents, on a daily basis. You know, a librarian with a barbarian edge. I laugh at myself, after years of studying french, learning to be and acting, even in accent, like a British intellectual, that I am what I am, with knowledge of where I came from, and I accept it.
Bullfighting? I have seen bullfighting in Seville and Mexico. It is an art, when done properly. People in the stands boo, etc., if the kill goes badly. What is your problem?
1 meter pair rca interconnect = $2,398.00
3 meter pair rca interconnect = $6,714.00
1 meter pair balanced interconnect = $3,500.00
3 meter pair balanced interconnect = $9,800.00
2.5 meter speaker pair = $14,990.00
4.0 meter speaker pair = $23.990.00
In the words of Charles Hansen, who knows a thing or two about R&D, manufacturing and marketing costs:
I noticed.
Mr Curl,
Would you have us believe, after appealing to us to try to understand your decades of online contributions, that you were unaware your colleague KBK, as early as October 2007 was making the rounds on audio forums declaring he had changed the way we understand the universe, as in this AVS thread titled
For the record, I only heard from KBK through another website, and I politely asked him to not put info on that thread that deviated from the subject at hand. He finally gave up on me, and went away, apparently to here.
I only spoke to him when I decided to find out if he was ok, no thanks to any of you here. I have only spoken to him a couple of times in my life.
