The Heresey can be a fun speaker. Heresey II's pop up on the used market frequently in the three hundred dollar range, and at that price will give you a good idea of what the new line does and makes it so if you want to play with mods or crossover changes, you aren't 'harming' a pricier speaker.

As for sound, I'd say lean bass, with no bloat - good bass speed, but it stops around 50 Hz.

To my ear, there is a touch of lower treble/upper mid emphasis that can cause some glare where the squaker transitions to the tweeter - which is volume dependent. It also seems to vary quite a bit from amp to amp, but I'm sure there's controversy there!

I don't mean my criticism to be offputting, definitely a fun speaker, easy to drive, and with good dynamics.

Oh, and they image on the 'big' side, so I'd say a good match for a larger room and will image well in the far field!

The Cornwall costs almost twice as much but I find is a much better sounding loudspeaker. One can find nice used Cornwalls for less than what new Heresys cost.

Cornwall I've heard are just big ol' party speakers. Heresy line is closer to entry level stereophile.

That's odd, the current Klipsch line shows both the Heresy and Cornwall use the same high frequency and midrange drivers. The Cornwall digs much deeper (58 Hz for the Heresy vs. 34 Hz for the Cornwall) with its 15 inch woofer. I've heard both, the Cornwall can be considered full range while the Heresy is lacking in the low end.

Ah, those Cromwells are just huge boxes, which I happen to like because they are similar to the British monitor boxes. I would be interested in something similar to the Cerwin-Vega VE 15" 3 way. At 20% the price of a Cromwell it would be more entry level than a Heresy. Just my opinion. Dont' get me wrong, I love the Heresy company but I actually think Cerwin-Vega gets a bad rap for no other reason than they are competitive.
