I know Wes Phillips did listen to both the QB-9 and the C-5xeMP, but I don't know why he didn't specifically comment on the comparison in his review. I did have the QB-9 briefly in my system while the review was being prepared, and I did feel that the C-5xeMP did have a slight advantage playing both CD files and hi-rez files that I also had on DVD-A. The player, of course, will also play SACDs.
You'd expect the differences to be small, however, as the QB-9 and C-5xeMP have the same digital filter. The QB-9's output stage, BTW, is the same as the new revision of the K5-xe preamplifier.
