Is there a reason you can't use regular black metal stands (like targets)?

I wish I could get a set of Targets. they don't make real speaker stands anymore-that I'm aware of.

I guess I didn't realize how lucky I was to find my used ones for so cheap.

What are "real" speaker stands?

Rats...two days ago I started this thread and when I first looked today and saw 5 replies I thought there was an answer but it turned into something else. Why does this happen so often on forums?

This is due to the point that Cheap and good, rarely meet.

And GOOD steel, well put together.. costs MONEY.

I suspect a web visit to audiogon, for a set of used stands, from someone nearby..is the order of the day.

What specifically are you looking for? For example, do they need to be weather resistant? If not, there are oodles of speaker stands that you could use available from many sources.

Nice sense of entitlement there. People on this forum generously provide answers to a wide range of questions. They are not paid to answer, and you are not entitled to an answer.

You were asked a question (twice now) in this thread, and you have yet to answer. In case you didn't get it the first two times: Is there a reason you cannot use a regular stand, e.g., a steel one?

I apologize for sounding like I was entitled to a response. Quite the contrary...I am always very appreciative when someone helps out.

There is no reason why I can't use a regular or a nonregular stand for that matter...just looking for some tangible suggestions.

Thanks,

Brian

So the fact that you are going to use it outdoors makes no difference other than I doubt that high audio performance is of particular concern, correct?

With this assumption, I would look at Audio Advisor's closeouts and specials. They often have various speaker stands at very reasonable prices.
