Chris, that combination of drooling and moaning is reaching your ears all the way from DUP's place. 1591 watts! In a closet-sized room. Wall-to-wall speakers.

DUP, you GOTTA bid on this one...

Go for it! It is YOU!

Hell, I'll buy the power cables for you...

Clifton,
It's the Xmas-style power cable that's got me bidding...

It's a start...1591 Watt, that's one section for the mids and tweeters........I had back in teh middle 70's a stack of Large Advents (4) "double Advent" system 2 AR2aX, 2 Dynaco A-25 2 Micro Coustics tweeters wired in series/parallel ckt driven off a Dynaco ST-400, it was underpowered, but it sounded better than anyone had in their places for 18 year old kids. It moved the walls, much to the chagrin of my parents. There is never too many watts, or never to early to start learning that WATTS is SOUND, REALISTIC SOUND. When I tried to power those speakers with teh Dyna ST-120 which I built originally it got horribly distorted, which is what learnt me about no power....When I moved up to the Dyna ST-400 (kit built of course) the sound appeared like magic, I wanted to go to Dual ST-400 but never did. The Room was about 11 X 12 !!! You could be engulfed in PRESSURE, the setup would practiaclly massage your toes with the SPL, it was GRAND. Even then I knew WATTS DRIVERS move air, everything else I heard back then sounded lifeless.....

LOL. I have "only" a KW, but it's bi-amped and driving very efficient speakers. Maximum SPL is 119 dB at one meter. And that's continuous clean SPL, not some girly distorted "peak" power.

Sounds like a line by Tim Taylor on Tool Time - "More power!"

It looks like the seller is big time confused about "wattage"..looks like he thinks the rating of the speakers are the system wattage available.....that is what mass fi is all about.
