A 1/4" mini to stereo RCAs will do the trick. I like going through the headphone jack- sounds better IMO.
No need to go through tape inputs any more than any other aux inputs (barring the phono obviously). Make sure the volume of the nanao is all the way up for proper output. The lower it's set the more distortion in the signal.
Yes there are converter cables that have a headphone jack on one side (to be connected to the iPod) and two RCA jacks on the other side (to be connected to the receiver). As my fellow forum member said most inputs on a receiver will work. The only exception is if you have one marked "Phono" because this one is for turntables ONLY. Also heed his advice about making sure that the iPod's volume control is turned all of the way up for the best sound.
