Right on! I wish the three of you many happy years together.
Haha, Thanks Erik.. Where ya been? You haven't been into OA in a while..
This is my most demanding semester to date, and I've mostly been too busy/exhausted to do much else. I also broke my ankle recently, which doesn't help.
Money's tighter than it has been, so the Turntable Fund has stagnated, and I haven't gotten any fresh music in awhile.
You'll see more of me in April, probably. I'll be here over the Summer - hopefully employed - and I have plans to close on the P3.
This downtown rent is really starting to burn me; I could get a P3-24 every six weeks. Man.
Mind the store for me.
Aww, man. A double bummer: the stalling of turntable funds and a broken ankle. Hope you get back running quickly on both accounts. I'm getting burned in school right now, too. I should be reading Milton, Richardson, Sebald et al. but I'm daydreaming about my vinyl set-up. Something is DEFINITELY wrong with me.
that "red dawn", dat some gooood sheet maan! nordost makes their wire names sound like ganja man. i have my arcam cd hooked to my arcam integrated with that stuff. the dealer was going to sell me the blue heaven (what are those guys smoking?), but swapped the demo with the red dawn, the difference was definitely notable, much clearer and more detailed. until that point, never in my life did i think i would part with that kind of jack for an interconnect. i always thought that those $3 ones at radio shack were fine.
your expereince may vary. you should not be disappointed with that choice however, if you use it to your amp, but try it with your cd player too.

Oh, there are a lot of plans in the works for my system. But I work at a place where we have Odin at work and we just did a comparison between TYR, Vahalla, and Odin. And yes.. Odin does sound amazing. We were running AVI (www.avihifi.co.uk) CD Player, Pre-am, Amp and Trio Loundspeakers and just ran Odin for everything except between the CD and Pre-amp and then changed that between the TRY, Vahalla, and Odin.. and it was just stunning..
I second what selfdivider said, Erik. A double bummer, indeed. I'm sorry to hear it. I hope that the spring brings better things.
Congrats on the new gear, Chizzap!
Thanks Stephen. Well, I got it all ordered. I also ordered a Silver Shadow Digital Coax cable and Silver Screen HDMI from Nordost along with the Red Dawns. Now I have to wait for it to all come in and then Vidar the cables and power cords.
Does this means I have to design a cable and call it 'Purple Kush?'
I don't think the people who make those Kush things would appreciate that. I didn't name the cables, you can blame Nordost. But still excellect cables.
I just wanted to let everyone know I got my gear in and it made a huge difference to my listening experience. I couldn't be happier. I posted some photos in the gallery.
Congrats. It's nice to hear a happy ending.
I couldn't find the photos. Could you give the link or name of the system.
Dave
just search "chizzap" in the gallery and it should bring up the 3 photos.
