Thanks for the extra pic. That tonearm looks anachronistic.
I will withold judgement until I can hear it play through a six foot tall column of McIntosh tweeters and midranges, poorly matched to a large, resonant box McIntosh subwoofer.

I must have seen that blog and then developed some sort of traumatic Freudian repression of the memory or something.
All I know is one thing:
When I'm spiraling around in the air for the 7th rotation...after bouncing my car off the front of that transport..I remember, what's left of me, that is....that I should not have put that double stack (quad) of MC2500's in the back seat.
Oh yes. McIntosh turntable? I guess analog is here to stay.
Bit of an ugly pug -- or am I just not a fan of Maccy styling? - if styling be the word for it - It may sound fantastic and no doubt with spawn some great reviews -- but nothing on this earth could make me buy something that looks like a throwback from the 1960's - just personal pref guys.
Liking McIntosh styling is analogous to liking Harleys; either you do or you don't.
At least a McIntosh doesn't mark its territory with oil drips.

I'm not a big fan of Mac styling, but I can respect it's tradition. This turntable however is the biggest kludge I've ever seen. It just does not work in any design sense whatsoever. One could design something that mates with the other McIntosh gear without grabbing the nearest power amp chassis and dropping in a turntable assembly into the top!
There are too many gorgeous tables out there for the money they are asking, and I bet many would (and do) go with McIntosh equipment very well. I'll be interested to see some reviews of how it actually sounds...
I couldn't help but notice the diamond plate...is this TT suitable to mount in the back of my 1 ton pick-up?
