Keep in mind that this is only the amplifier, and you would need a preamp/processor to accompany it. (Sorry if that was insultingly elementary )

Outlaw was the first to come to my mind as well. Maybe NAD or Rotel if you are needing a surround receiver that has the processor in the same chasis.

That would be my shortlist if I were shopping for A/V receivers. There are probably more good choices, but these are the ones that come to mind.

Beware of an older NAD surround receiver. I bought a T752 and thought it sounded pretty bad. Measured it and found the frequency response was awful. Got a replacement, and had the same problem. Acted like I had selected speaker size as small but had not. NAD when contacted about the problem responded that they only speced the power amp and not the front end. Don't know about any other of their models. The Yamaha models with the microphone auto setup and direct audio modes are pretty good for the value.

Yipes! Well, that's unfortunate that NAD is having difficulties with quality; The power amp is certainly worthy of consideration. Sorry to hear the 752 was giving you grief.

Ended up using it as a background system with bookshelf speakers. Was glad that I got a response to my inquiry, but couldn't believe the response. Spec only pertains to the final stage and not the input/pre-amp portion.
Might fly with a budget system, but I would think that a company like NAD would be embarrased to offer a reply like that.

I have recently heard the NAD T754 by coincidence and it sounded really good. Very nice control and power resources.

I can't tell how it was when it was called T752, but I do know that I had the NAD T762 (6x100w), which I bought a little over 4 years ago. It had a LOT of muscle! Much more than the watt-number could indicate. - Definitely made my B&W CM4's run fast for the money, despite the fact it is not a particularly easy-driven speaker, size and all considered. The NAD gave the CM4 deep bass and a very satisfying stereo perspective for the money.
