An under-appreciated tweak.

When Stereophile measures a speaker's off axis response, does it ever include vertical data?

It does on everyone I checked (mostly those attached to my own reviews but others, too).

OK, I gotta get home and look, but I just checked the Sonus Faber online review and...CRAP!...I just found that part.

OK, so they do. See what happens when I post from memory and then think I chekced my facts bfore posting? Yup, I'm wrong.

Man, looked right at it and didn't see it.

[Insert Emily Litella moment....]

As David Feherty said when he saw Tiger hit a wedge out of deep ruff, over 184 yards of trees, and land the ball next to the cup...F**k me!

Well, I'll still try to stand behind the rest of the post!

I usually make note of the vertical issues since I listen seated, most of the time. OTOH, I do a fair amount of walking around, in and out of the listening room so it is often obvious that a speaker sounds different at different listening heights. Of course, I ain't that tall.

I've also noticed a trend with small speakers. Quite a few of them are designed to be mounted high or on tall stands. I'm sure this has to do with home theaters and that sort of thing. Anyway, there are a lot of bookshelf speakers that can serve dual purpose and this could be a consideration.
