Hi John - Welcome to the forums. I've only heard the Delta (and currently use it for my headphone rig), but, I do have some thoughts to share. It's great when it comes to read errors early in its life. If I recall correctly, Robert Harley reported that it excelled in gap errors on the Pierre Verany test disc. When it comes to sound, I don't think it's the most refined sounding transport; I think Stereophile rated it as Class C or B, and that's probably appropriate. The Delta can be had cheaply on Audiogon. I like to leave my gear powered on to sound its best. Unfortunately, the Delta does not turn its laser off when not playing a disc. To leave it on is to shorten its life. The Mitsubishi mechanism used in this model is no longer in production, so you will have a tough time replacing it if the used unit you get is long in the tooth. A number of years ago, my Delta got temperamental with reading some discs and I ended up replacing it in my main rig and shifting it to headphone duty (which is less critical for me). I almost wonder if you'd be better served by buying a newer, in production unit with good jitter specs.
