You would probably be better off asking this question in a Home Theater forum.

As far as HDMI 1.3, don't hold your breath. There is too much on flux right now with HD and other formats that I think HDMI 1.2 will serve one quite well for a while. The Arcam AVR350 is best with video through HDMI and audio through coax or optical.

Thanks for all your kind replies.

Jackfish, I've been lurking around at avsforum.com for awhile. I'll checkout those other links you provided.

rgibran, it's LocoMoco. A popular local dish here in Hawaii that consist of a layer of rice, hamburger patty, brown gravy, and a sunny side up egg. Not what I'd call healthy, but yummy! It's not as popular as years past, due to a people watching carbs and more important, healthier choices.

I just laid to rest my 23+yr old HK PM655 int. amp that made it on Stereophile Honorable Mention list. I'm looking for another quality product to carry me over the years with fine music quality. Now I can afford to spend a bit more. Yea!

At the $2K range, is there any other product that can compete with the Arcam 350? Including separates. Like rgibran, I keep hearing others suggest units, but only to say they think the Arcam sounds better to them. I can audition the Denon here, but what about NAD, Rotel, Marantz, or integrated amps?

Forget the bells and whistles for now. With all the rapid changes in HT today, it's just not stable and makes me frustrated. I'll get a separate low cost receiver later with the features of today. So thanks for helping me set my focus toward the right direction.

Oh BTW, which month does Stereophile comes out with their Recommended List? Not the year best list. Been busy with "life" and I remember Stereophile used to be like a small booklet.
