For $150.00 street price on a 300 CD changer I would expect that one is primarily buying is convenience. It probably has the same sound as other inexpensive Sony CD players - OK, but sterile.
I would just pick one up and give it a spin and see what you think.
Are there any others you might suggest?
I don't know changers. My guess is that they all work decently and have similar sound; there is a lot in them for the money and they can't focus that much on sound quality at the price.
If you have a separate DAC, the Sony has a digital out (IIRC)and probably puts out a decent digital signal.
