Is this you, Michael B. Richman? I was over at Amazon and tripped over one of your reviews.

Thanks!
Sorry that's not me....
You've listed some nice stuff, Rich, but where do guys like Gerry Mulligan, Johnny Hodges, Norris Turney, and Harold Ashby fall in your list of favorites?
Clay:
Hodges is one of my favorite blowers and I will be listening some of his work later on. Mulligan also has some great work as well but I am partial to the other artists I listed. As for Norris Turney, and Harold Ashby I enjoy their work very much but recordings are hard to come by lately.

Fortunately, you're mistaken. Mapleshade's current list includes a fine Norris Turney quartet recording entitled "Big, Sweet and Blue" and a Harold Ashby Quartet entitled "Just for You". Both are well worth your listening.
If you're not familiar with Pierre Sprey and the Mapleshade Studio, finding them and their catalog will be a treat for you. Lots of high quality recordings mastered live to two track 15ips tape, minimum miking. Great CD's for about ten bucks. Try 1-888-236-2753, I think you'll like it.
