You have to admit, AlexO, that Robert's writeup was a classic lesson in why the job of reviewing audio equipment ain't all it's cracked up to be. If one of us ordinary users had auditioned this little "buzzer/hummer" we wouldn't have wasted ten minutes trying to figure out how to quiet it down before disconnecting it and taking it back where it came from. All that work trying to give it a fair listening test and it still sounds like finger nails on a blackboard. Coming up with diplomatic language after that deserves some kind of special commendation.
Maybe Al Gore will buy one for the sake of the environment. Maybe they should paint it green.
I'm all for green, but it's gotta sound ripe. Otherwise, it's all form with no function.
BTW, I think that this month's issue has been the best one in a while.
Why didn't he call a "spade a spade"...not just a bad ttea cup? 3% distortion? !!!!
aM I MISSING SOMETHING THE SPECS SECTION SAYS input 64w W/4ohm LOAD YET IT HAS A 160w pc !!! INTO 4 ohms...THIS HAS TO BE A MISPRINT, OTHERWISE THIS THING IS AN AMAZING CURE FOR ANY POWER PROBLEMS, IT TAKES POWER AND MAKES MORE!!!!! P=E1 MOST OF THE TIME, MOLE POWER? MY AMPS USE CLOSE TO 1800W TO OUTPUT ABOUT 1200-1400W INTO 4 OHMS. Hi Freq power supplys are efficient, but do they really make 64W into 320W? Now that's audio MAGIC...can't ever get more out than ya put in, right? Even a 4th grade engineering student would know that, right?
