Hi, two places whosew rok I've heard are:
www.aplhifi.com
Alex Paychev is a great modder. I;m not sure if he's moved out of modding, but he's worth every penny.
Also, check out ModWright, by Dan Wright. My neighbor has a Denon that they modded that sounds good. He does great product support, too. Well worth your time.

Best wishes.
I'll bet Reference Audio Mods will mod the DV9500. They did a great job on the Marantz SA-8001 I heard it at the Denver show. They also demo'd a $100 player that they modded. It sounded very good! They will also mod incrementally if you don't want the full treatment.
Check them out!
Thanks! I contacted Alex, who is still in the business, and checked out his site. You were right... they look like amazing mods.
He was quite professional & friendly, and lives nearby, so I'll be picking up the unit in person.
He also invited me to swing by and listen to his custom reference system, which he built himself. Given his level of expertise, I'm sure it will be superb.
I'll write a review in a few months when I have a chance to break it in... appreciate the referral!

Wow, I am totally jealous, by the way.
Owning an APL Hi Fi rig is my digital holy grail.
I've heard that system of his. Also quite amazing!
Best wishes to you!
I would also check out mods with Underwood Hifi. Parts Connexion
