Wouldn't give too much on this guys' claims. Seems like he has a personal vendetta against Olive, and he goes after everyone who disagrees. I listened to the OPUS at the CES and it sounded great. Looks like Alan Taffel from TAS thinks the same way.
I've had work done by mauimods.com, so I put alot of stock in what he says about the Opus. I've seen his test
data and pictures of the inside of the unit that back up his claims.
He doesn't have a personal vendetta against Olive, he just doesn't like it when a manufacturer makes claims about a product and it doesn't deliver.
I'm sure glad I didn't buy one.
Your profile says that you are in Maui, does the guy making all these claims (MauiMods) have anything to do with you? It sure looks suspicious Seems like you promote him http://forum.stereophile.com/forum/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=3123&Main=584
If you go through the complete post you see that there is another side to the story (i.e. measurements of MauiMods seem not to have been taken correctly etc.). All I am saying is that this guy seems to be driven by some other motivation (other people in the forum think the same way).
I don't have anything to do with mauimods.com other than being a customer and a DIY TacTHacker. Visit the TacT users forums on yahoo if you need more info.
I looked at all audiocircle posts, if Olive has
a problem with mauimods.com's testing or statements about
the Opus, they should have posted something.
Are they hiding something? It sure looks suspicious.
It's even more suspicious when Olive(Robert?) posts under the name of "proaudio!"
