Yeah, ya got me.

Supposedly, so is Alice Cooper, Bon Jovi, and Grant Lee Buffalo, but we all really know who's who.

Deborah Harry has just always equated in my mind.

Maybe if they tried to tour without her, I'd get a better feel for the whole "Blondie is a Group" thing.

I bet Chris Stein had those buttons made.

How about we meet in the middle and make the button time relevant:

"Blondie is a duo."

The title of this thread brings to mind the Stones song.
"If you take more of those
you'll have an overdose"
19th nervous breakdown

And I'm getting' older, too." -Stevie Nicks

Thanks for the interesting and well-written post, Buddha.

New Cars? With Todd Rundgren? What's the point? That must be slumming for TR, since he is a more significant and influential artist with a longer active career than The Cars ever were. Sort of like Paul McCartney fronting The New Knickerbockers.

So who of The Cars is left? If Rundgren is fronting, then obviously Ric Ocasic is gone. The original bassist is dead. So that leaves Elliot Easton, plus keys and drums?

Easton should be too good for that, he's a fine and underappreciated guitarist. But then he has prior experience with tribute acts, he played in Creedence Clearwater Revisited. Has he done Ringo's All-Starr Band yet?

There is such a thing as an aging rocker's hell, and I managed to get a glimpse of it a few years back. Eric Burdon was playing a local venue, and his opening act was a group put together locally by Nick St. Nicholas of Steppenwolf fame.

NSN's band started up, and it appeared that all they had done is practice posing. Perhaps I shouldn't be so harsh, because Nick had obviously spent some extra time in the mirror practicing dance moves and tambourine flailing. Several beers were consumed during this portion of the show. Thankully, it was over after about 45 minutes.

Then here comes Eric. The same damn thing has happened to Eric over the years that has happened to many of us. Balder, fatter and a fondness for funny Hawaiian shirts. But it seemed as if Eric may have pawned his voice somewhere along the road. It was horrible. It would have been comical if it weren't Eric Burdon. After the second song, we were out of there. Why, it was worse than seeing Rick Springfield at the county fair.
