For an alternative to the EMI Classics version with von Karajan conducting Oistrakh, Rostropovich, and Richter - remastered in their Great Performances series, I believe - check out the Warner Classics version with Zehetmair, Hagen, and Aimard conducted by Harnoncourt. Both are superb.

Jason's right,. The Warner disc with Zehetmair, Hagen, Aimard, and Harnoncourt is a honey of a performance.
