Tood,

Thanks for keeping the posts coming. Very enlightening.

I have enjoyed Naxos as they are a great way to build a decent Classical library on the cheap. I always believe it is important to support companies like this that try a deliver great music to the masses. Certainly way better than the "download" mentality sweeping the globe. I really enjoy getting their updated "book"/cataglog for free, even.

Enjoyed your review of the Silverman Beet/32. I really love that set and JA's work.

Regards,

Hi, Jim -- I buy Naxos all the time. At their sonic worst, they are merely a little subdued dynamically, and at their best they are as good as anything our there. Some of the recent Marin Alsop-led orchestral performances are stunning, in both sonics and interpretive mastery. Her Tchaikovsky 4th, and her Brahms 1st and 2nd are just outstanding. Cheers, Clifton

Clifton,

Now you've done it. I'll be off to Borders in the AM and buy more stuff I really don't need, but that is not what this hobby is about anyway! Thanks.
