Hey Chris,
I too am looking at a Jolida but the 1701A Hybrid Integrated Amp. I called Underwood HiFi http://www.underwoodhifi.com/ and the 1701A was priced right (delivered, which included shipping to New Hampshire).
I also don't have a place to audition one but from the reviews I've read and suggestions.... I think I'll be very happy with one over my present setup.

The Dynaco Stereo 70 is not an integrated amp. It is strictly a power amp. I have several buddies that own Jolida equipment. They are all very happy with it. I think it is a good buy.
Thanks for the info on the Dynaco. Dunno why I thought it was an integrated. I think I will probably go with the Jolida 302 unless somebody convinces me that it is a mistake.
Other suggestion are always appreciated
Chris
I am currently a happy user of the Prima Luna Prologue-2 Valve integrated amplifier.
However, its priced at about twice your budget of US $600.
Give the Prima Luna, a listen, if you can.
Cheers
Chris,
Do you know how to bias a set of tubes? Do you want to turn the Jolida on its' side and insert some meter probes into its bottom end whilst carefully turning some micro trim pots with an eyeglass screwdriver...every six months? Do you want to put another 100 - 150 dollars in to your investment each time you get the urge to do some tube rolling? If the answer is yes to all the above the Jolida should fit the bill. If the answer is "NO" you may want to consider one of their or others hybrid designs.

www.avahifi.com Hybrid tube amps/pre amps, current list is obsolete, his new stuff is called Ultra hybrid, great stuff
I see your point, and it's wisdom is not lost on me. I look at my forray into the tube world much the same way as I did into flyfishing. I thought I would like the process and knew it would suck from time to time. But when everything comes together through all the work, man is it spectaular!
