Welcome to the forum:

Are you able to get a hint from Hubby as to what he might like? Guys can be awful picky about their audio toys.

Welcome!

While the Infinity speaker line is nice, I agree with Rgibran...perhaps the best approach would be let him know you are getting him this great gift and let him pick it out.

The choosing and considering might be half the fun for him!

Now what did go and do that for, RG (funny as it may be) that's just going to scare her off. Much better advice would be to just have her go back to the Stereophile.com homepage and click on the "Home Theater" link along the top of the page.

Home Theater is Stereophile's sister publication which specializes in all things home theater, including multichannel speaker systems of various price ranges.

Forgive me if I find something a bit disengenuous about the post/poster. If I offended, my apologies.

I'm not familiar with the Infinity Primus line of speakers but I have owned other Infinity speakers and have always liked their sound. One thing I do know about the Primus speakers is that the prices on them tend to vary quite a bit, so I would suggust that you shop around very carefully.

Don't just go with the lowest price, but rather try for a combination of low price and reasonable service from the dealer. Properly setting up a multichannel sound system can be somewhat trick for even an experienced audiophile and finding a dealer who can assist you with the proper set up may be worth the extra money in the cost of the equipment.

Again, check the home theater web site to see if they have any reviews of the primus speakers available online.

I can echo jazzfan's sentiment about setup issues. I also agree that the home theater forum might be more fruitful, especially on the receiver side of things.

That said a key thing I learned when buying my first system was that the room, and space in which you will listen makes a big impact, sometimes as big as the speakers or receiver themselves.

For stereo listening, having the ability to place your speakers properly cannot be overrated. I believe that the infinity
