Is this the reply to another post? if not, whats your point for discussion?

on a similar subject, I had a friend who got kicked out of a library because of his hawaiian shirt, it was too loud.

Whenever I listen in a darkened room I always smell scotch, beer, or gin, no matter who is on the wheel or in the slot. Seriously, I am definitely not synaesthetic. A psychologist friend of mine says it is quite rare -- less than 1% of the general population (how DO they know that!!? Pish...scientists!!). Back in the '60's (1964, I believe) I was doing Peyote. It made me temporarily nauseous, but after that passed, I lay prone on the living room floor, listening to my old Altec/Dynaco/Gerrard/Shure system. Soon, 3-dimensional shapes started coming out of the speaker grilles -- they were abstract faces, some happy, some sad. My party-mates said later that I was doubled over, hysterically laughing and pointing at the empty air. Never tried THAT again. Ah, the sixties, when men were men and REALLY stupid! Are you genuinely synaesthetic, or do you have to mentally concentrate or conciously exert to evoke the cross-sense images? Interesting stuff. Clifton

I spent a very interesting several hours watching my shag carpet grow 3 feet high and the snow on my television transport me through hyper space.

I came away with a different take on the experience than you did. I was eager do it again...and again...and again.

I was convinced that 75% of the programming on television was designed for viewing in an altered state.

Monty, I'm AFRAID to try it again: I may never get back!!! At least the booze gets peed out and there's a (temporary) end to it! Yeah... the tube-drivel definitely requires some sort of hallucinatory enhancement. You know you're in bad shape when you start liking the commercials better than the main content! Cheers, Clifton

Well, I suppose I should say that was 25 years ago and I have no desire to revisit the experiences. I'm happy going through life at its own speed these days. Well, I do enjoy a little bourbon or wine now and then.
